Finding the version of an application within Windows 7 is typically done from within the application itself.

The majority of applications have a Help option on the menu. In the help menu, find and select the About option. The example used here is Windows Media Player 12 and the version number is displayed.

If the application does not have a Help > About function, you can right click on the application itself from its installed folder and select Properties. The version number will be displayed in the properties.

Click OK to close window.
